The structure of the Max '18 new signature board- Ambition board
This is a board designed for pro snowboarders. Its 10mm camber flexes into the snow and provides locked-in stability while you are carving. The true twin shape gives you complete control in either direction. The 840g tri-axial fiberglass distributed throughout the top and the bottom of the board provide stiffness, and the two crossed 220g carbon fiber strips maximize the torsional strength of the board for better landings. Two parallel carbon fiber bands running from nose to tail assure stability and excellent pop to hop on rails or to go higher on jumps. These four carbon fiber elements work in concert to help you jump higher and land with more precision. X Games and Olympic snowboarder, and Nobaday team rider and ambassador, Max Parrot worked with Nobaday designers to create a board that can handle all the rigors of Big Air and Slopestyle competition.
The birth of Ambition board
Nobaday has been developing Max’s board model for about three years. Max has participated in developing and improving his signature board since he joined the Nobaday team. Nobaday produced dozens of sample boards for Max to test, and the boards that met his standards were then sent out to be used and abused by our other team riders. After testing in all kinds of weather and riding conditions, we were able to make technical and aesthetic improvements to the board. The end result of this testing and refining process is the Max pro model: a durable, stable board with long-lasting graphics that is ready for anything—whether it’s the Olympics, or your first day in the park.
The designer of Ambition board
Alexis Marcou grew up in Larissa, Greece and was educated in Britain, where he was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Photomedia and Design Communication in 2006 at the Plymouth College of Art. Marcou is a visual artist and illustrator known for his commercial and self-initiated work. He has developed a unique artistic style over the years, and his techniques combine a mix of traditional methods with the latest digital applications and tools. His style is characterized by the use of intricate shading and geometric lines using mainly graphite. He has done freelance work for clients including powerhouses such as Nike, PepsiCo, Hewlett Packard, Cisco, Atomic Skis, BMW, ESPN, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Acco Brands.
The inspiration of the design of Ambition board came from Max’s own story. Since winning his first competition at the age of 17 and earning his first medal at X Games at 18, he has continued progressing and succeeding as a professional snowboarder. Throughout his career, competing around the world, he has often viewed himself alone like a wolf. To reflect Max’s self-perception, the artist created an image of a wolf that, though wise and restrained, still has ambition in its eyes.
